LOVE Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus

Last night we had the pleasure of attending Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey’s “Barnum Bash” at the Peoria Civic Center.  The performers stunned the crowd with some seriously, entertaining acts. There is no better way to describe the show than with pictures so here we go!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Ringlettes

The Ringlettes were a nice twist from the usual RingMaster. They guided us through the show.

This take on a high-wire act was interesting and added an acrobatic element you wouldn’t normally see in a high-wire act. Liked it!

The guys flew high in the air during this modern ‘high-wire’ act. Truly amazing.

I’m not sure how they managed to land on both feet!

This act was so fun to watch! I loved their choice of florescent colored pants.

Crazy!?!

Dog act at Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus

Absolutely one of our favorite acts! This could be because the stars of the show were Rat Terriers (the same breed as our three dogs) and we know just how smart these little cuties perform! This little choo-choo train was adorable!

This clever little rat terrier could even jump rope!!

Not surprising for a family of animals lovers, the elephants were also a favorite! As large as they are its amazing to watch how they move with grace and intelligence.

Grace with a ton of cuteness!

There is no words for this act. Unbelievable and amazing don’t even come close. They ways they utilized the strength in their bodies was crazy. See the next picture & then tell me they were not amazing!

Amazing. How can that little body hold that guy??!!

Trapeze act at Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus

Probably our favorite act was this guy. Using two trapeze and a series of rings he defied gravity by keeping himself in the air…certainly suspenseful! My guess is that overall, he was the most-liked performer.

Its hard to tell in this photo but there were these rings that suspended from the top, stretching from one trapeze to the other. Using his feet, he ‘walked’ across/thru these rings. Certainly a clammy palm moment!

The strength needed to suspend like this is mind-boggling.

Motorcycle act at Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus

Last but certainly not least was the motorcycle act. This was Pickle’s fav! The photos do not do the performance justice. In the middle of the cage was a women hanging from the top, while the bikes rode circles around her. Pickle was amazed to find that one of the riders was a women.

While we certainly enjoyed the entire show, we found the second half to be a bit more entertaining with some of the more suspenseful acts following intermission. Rather than using the traditional circus clowns, the performers were a more modern as a comedy act. Although it was fun, I did miss seeing the clowns! Above all it was a fantastic family outing which our kids will surely remember for a long time to come. I’m especially grateful for the enthusiasm Willis showed following the show as he quickly began journaling the experience. That is priceless!

Additional show times are Sat., Oct. 13th, 11am, 3pm & 7pm and Sun., Oct. 14th 1pm & 5pm. Kids’ tickets are just $12 and adult tickets start at $13. You can reserve your tickets by calling 800-345-7000 or visiting the Peoria Civic Center box office.
